It is with great regret that we must postpone our 42nd Syracuse Press Club awards banquet, scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2020.
Our board of directors has been monitoring the evolving COVID-19 crisis and the directives from public health experts urging social distancing. It is clear to us the banquet cannot take place. Our decision was made in the interests of your welfare, and that of the Scholar Hotel staff.
This is a very difficult time for all of us, for our families, friends and our newsrooms. The board deeply respects that many of you must leave the security of your homes to continue the vital work of keeping our region informed.
We remain in awe of your dedication and perseverance to report the news, and we look forward to recognizing your hard work at the postponed banquet, which we hope to arrange for the fall.
