Congratulations to Pete Spartano of WCNY-TV.  Pete was recently named Vice president of Broadcasting for the PBS affiliate. He will also retain his title of Executive Producer of news.   Here is the official announcement. Peter Spartano will now be the new Vice President of Broadcasting, integrating television, radio, programming, and educational responsibilities.  Peter will drive the daily operations and strategic vision of our broadcasting operations across our media platforms and ensure the content on our properties exceed the expectations of our listeners, watchers, and visitors.  

Pete has a long history in Syracuse broadcasting. He began his career as a photographer, and worked as and Executive Producer at both WIXT-TV (now WSYR), and WTVH-TV. He was News Director at WTVH and later joined Sinclair's WSYT before joining WCNY.  Pete is also an officer with the Syracuse Press Club. Good luck with your new position!
