WTVH Reunion Date Set
Written by Lou Gulino
Wednesday, 22 July 2009 23:53

Back in April, some 80 former employees of WTVH-TV gathered on short notice to say goodbye to the station as an independent entity.  Owners Granite Broadcasting announced it would, in effect, outsource management of the station and news production to Barrington Broadcasting's WSTM.  An estimated 40 people lost their jobs. A handful remain at the 980 James Street facility as WSTM continues work toward integrating TV5 into its 1030 James Street location.

During that get-together in April, a number of people talked about organizing a more formal reunion of TV-5 staffers. That sentiment was echoed by dozens of former employees who now live and work out of town, and could not arrange to come back for a farewell toast.

Well your editor is happy to report that he and former WTVH Assignment Editor Jodi Mueller (Milewitz) are in the process of organizing a reunion.  We have reserved the date of June 12th, 2010 at a local banquet facility. We'll have more details in a few weeks, including a web site with all the information, as well as a way to reserve your seat and use a credit card to pay for your dinner.  Mark your calendars. Jodi has a mailing list, plus we have  a list of former TV 5 staffers who are members of The Legends of WTVH Facebook group. we also plan outreach efforts through News Blues, TV Spy and other industry web sites. But please, spread the word
