Newschannel 9 assignment editor departs for the NYS Fair
Dave Bullard has left his position as Assignment Editor of Newschannel 9 in Syracuse.  Bullard accepted a position with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets as a public information officer at the New York State Fair. He begins his new job Monday.

Sinclair to buy stations of CNYCentral
Sinclair Broadcast Group announced Thursday it has reached agreement to purchase 18 of Barrington Broadcasting's television stations in a deal valued at $370 million dollars.  As part of that deal, Sinclair also agreed to continue to provide sales services or operate six other stations.

Staff change updates at local TV stations

Niko Tamurian has been named the sports director of CNYCentral.   Tamurian, who was the weekend sports anchor replaces John Evenson as sports director.  Evenson departed recently for a position with the CBS 12 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

ESPN's Mike Tirico named Newhouse Convocation speaker

ESPN and ABC announcer Mike Tirico will address the 2013 graduating class of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications during its convocation ceremony at the Carrier Dome on Saturday May 11, according to an announcement Friday by the schoo.

Tirico is a 1988 graduate of Syracuse University. He began his broadcasting career while still a student, working as the weekend sports anchor at WTVH-TV in Syracuse.

Former P-S reporter joins Dinosaur BBQ

Former Post-Standard reporter Robert Baker has joined the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que.  But don't look for the 2012 Syracuse Press Club president to be cooking up some ribs. 

Baker is now the restaurant's public relations and online marketing manager.  In addition to its restaurant in Syracuse, the dino has outlets in Rochester, Troy, Harlem, Newark, N.J., and Stamford, Conn, with two more locations opening soon. 

Congratulations Bob on the new position.

Mario Rossi, a Syracuse native, started his newspaper career at 17 as a summer-time reporter for The Post-Standard and was still writing columns for the Syracuse Newspapers almost seven decades later.
