| Syracuse stations pool coverage for trooper funeral |
|
The death of New York State Trooper Amanda Anna brought local television news operations together. On Friday June 1, YNN, CNYCentral and Newschannel 9 joined forces to produce a four camera live broadcast of services at North Syracuse Baptist Church. Time Warner which owns YNN, contributed the company's video production truck which is normally used for broadcasts of local sporting events. Each news organization contributed staff to set up equipment, run cables, and operate cameras during the funeral services. YNN also contributed a satellite uplink truck which provided distribution of the broadcast to all local stations as well as network affiliate feeds. YNN broadcast the funeral in the Syracuse market, CNYcentral an Newschannel 9 carried the funeral on their digital sub channels. |
