Veteran Fulton Journalist Retires

The Valley News in Fulton announced that Fulton Patriot editor-in-chief Roy Hodge retired June 18th. Hodge spent 51 years at the paper, beginning as a Linotype operator. he eventually worked his way up to writer, editor, owner and publisher.  Hodge seen in this photo attended his last Fulton City Council meeting.

 He was later honored by the council.  He will continue to write his popular Hodgepodge column for the paper.  Here is a link to the story in the Valley News. Here is a link to a story about him in Oswegocountytoday.com.
Andrew Henderson
, managing editor of The Valley News was named editor of the Patriot and will assume dual editor roles.  Nicole Reitz joined he Valley News as associate editor.

A true newspaperman of the old school, even after Brohmann Roth became an assistant city editor and later a columnist, at heart he never forgot that he was first and foremost a reporter. He also never forgot his roots in Syracuse.
